Issues

  • Secure the Border

The Biden Administration has created a crisis on our southern border. With the federal government falling short of its responsibilities, it is incumbent upon Texas to step forward, fortify border security, and eliminate the incentives that drive illegal immigration.

  • Energy Independence

As inflation increased costs by an average of $11,000 this year on American Families, the Biden Administration is seeking to shut down the Texas oil and gas industry. If Texas was a nation, we would be the third largest producer of oil and gas. Over the last decade, this production has contributed over $200 billion in taxes and royalties funding essential government services from education to law enforcement. We must protect the Texas oil and gas industry.

  • Lower our Property Taxes

Property taxes are out of control. The legislature can and should eliminate frivolous spending and apply the surplus revenue towards buying down the M&O portion of our property taxes until they are eliminated over time.

  • Life and Liberty

Richard Beyea is 100% pro-life and is an unwavering defender of the Constitution. He believes freedom of speech is essential for democracy, and will fight back against censorship from woke Big Tech companies in California.

  • Second Amendment

Richard Beyea will fight any effort to infringe upon the 2nd Amendment rights of his neighbors, whether that comes from the federal, state or local government. He believes this is one of the most basic rights of law-abiding Texans.

  • Election Integrity

Fair, free, and secure elections are vital to the future of our state and nation. Penalties for voter fraud must be strengthened, and new measures should be put in place to ensure that only citizens can vote or register to vote.

  • Education Reform

Parental Choice offers us a chance to reform public education while preserving and protecting our existing infrastructure. Dollars should follow the student and fund the classroom, not the bureaucracy. Empowering parents and students with options is essential to ensuring leftist indoctrination, critical race theory, and inappropriate content stay out of the classroom.

  • Ban Taxpayer Funded Lobbying

More than $40 million taxpayer dollars were spent by local governments to hire lobbyists, roughly 10% of all money spent to influence policy at the state legislature. Many of these lobbyists were actively working against property tax relief, education reform, and common-sense protections for our Constitutional Rights.
